Bridging European architectural heritage with Australian contemporary design
Founded in 2009 by architects with extensive training in European design traditions, khaki-peak emerged from a simple observation: Australian architecture could benefit immensely from the refined principles developed over centuries in Europe.
Our founding team studied in Florence, Paris, and London before returning to Australia with a mission to make European architectural excellence accessible to Australian clients. We recognised that while local building conditions differ significantly from Europe, the underlying principles of proportion, light, and craftsmanship remain universal.
Today, our practice comprises twelve dedicated professionals who share a passion for historical architecture and its thoughtful application in contemporary contexts.
We believe that authentic European design requires deep understanding, not superficial imitation. Every ornamental detail, every proportional relationship in our work stems from genuine historical precedent, adapted thoughtfully for Australian conditions.
European architectural beauty must function within Australian realities. Our designs account for local climate, building codes, and lifestyle patterns while preserving the essential character that makes European styles so enduring.
Exceptional architecture emerges from dialogue. We work closely with clients, craftspeople, and builders to ensure every project reflects both historical sophistication and personal vision.
